About Appointments
How do I schedule an appointment?
You can schedule an appointment using our contact form. I aim to respond to inquiries within 24–48 hours. Once the form is submitted, Mindful Therapy Group will contact you to schedule your first appointment. Follow-up appointments can be scheduled through the online portal, during your appointment, or by phone or email.
What should I expect during my first appointment?
Your first appointment focuses on understanding your concerns, medical history, and goals. We’ll collaborate to create a tailored care plan.
How long are appointments?
Initial appointments typically last 60 minutes. Follow-up appointments are usually 30 minutes.
What should I prepare to my appointment?
Please have a list of current medications, a summary of your medical history, and any relevant paperwork.
Treatment & Services
Do you prescribe medications?
Yes, I can prescribe medications if needed as part of your treatment plan. However, we’ll discuss all options, including non-medication treatments.
Do you offer therapy or counseling?
While I primarily focus on psychiatric care and medication management, I do offer ADHD coaching, including ADHD-related couples therapy. Additionally, we work with many excellent therapists at Mindful Therapy Group and can assist you in finding a great fit for ongoing counseling.
What is patient-centered care?
Patient-centered care means we work together as partners. I bring my medical expertise, and you provide insight into your lived experience to co-create the best treatment plan for you.
Are there any conditions you don't treat?
In some cases, a patient's needs may be better addressed by a different provider, particularly if the case is highly complex or outside my area of expertise. I prioritize maintaining a clear understanding of my resources and experience to ensure patients receive the best care possible. For example, I do not regularly treat individuals with severe schizophrenia or uncontrolled bipolar mania. As an outpatient provider, I often lack access to the specialized resources, such as caseworkers, that community mental health offices can provide. These resources can make a significant difference in achieving the best outcomes for such conditions. If a specialized level of care is needed, I discuss this openly with the patient and provide appropriate referrals, along with support to ensure a smooth transition to the right provider.
